[Bug] Game Not Saving

UPDATE:
Deleting the game via "Delete Local Content" in Steam, and ensuring that no files of the game remained on my computer and after a fresh install I was able to save again. Though, I'm still unsure as to what caused the problem in the first place.
After navigating to the menu to save my game and clicking "Save", I get the "Saving Game..." text, but never confirmation of the game saving. I was only able to save once the first time I played since then I haven't been able to save my game. It doesn't crash, or stop responding, it simple doesn't save. After navigating to the folder where the save files are stored it virtually empty. I have tried upgrading to the experimental build, downgrading again, verifying the integrity, uninstalling, reinstalling, running as admin, and running in compatibility mode, and nothing seems to allow me to save again. I meet more than the minimum system requirements and close enough to the recommended where I don't see this as being the problem.
