I've been looking for a game like this my whole life. Game is amazing. Keep up the good work Unknownworlds.
I know there are some bugs, but I know in due time they will all be washed away. Great job so far.
I totally agree. The closest game I can think of to this is ecco the dolphin, and that's just based on the lonely terrifying ocean elements. Ever since I was like 9 years old (20 years ago!) I've been wishing for a game like this.
There's nothing quite like Subnautica, I am VERY happy they put it on xbox
@BlindGuardian you just reminded me of that big white shark in Ecco the dolphin (I was 8 or 9 when I played the game..) I was SO SCARED that I freezed on the beach near that shark and did not move for 15 minutes, panicking what I should do next.
I had a very similar reaction when I first encountered the Reaper Leviathan. :'D

Exactly! That shark freaked me out too. Crazy that there's only two games EVER released that bring this type of fear
Yeah it's an amazing game, can't remember the last time I just enjoyed "existing" in a game world so much. It's a very surreal feeling exploring the sea.
Keep it up UW, for your first port you're doing a great job with such an ambitious game for a console.
I stumbled upon this game while searching to see if No Man's Sky was coming out for xbox one. Tried the demo for 1 hour and bought it immediately after the time ran out.
Was going to buy a PS4 just for No Man's Sky but now I'm quite hooked on this game. Happy to say it saved me money. Never thought I was going to like a submersed ocean kind of game.
@Foxy No Man's Sky is as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle.
Subnautica, as wide as an ocean, as deep as an ocean!
They should use that as a tag line, I think Subnautica deserves the hype and attention that NMS got. I don't mind NMS but it can't hold a candle to this.
@OrionGalaxy If you go with Elite Dangerous, get the Commander Pack. It's $35 with "deals with gold" and comes with the first 2 installments of the game, which the second one enables you to land planetside. They're supposed to release a new installment every year around December, each one being $30 and each one adding new aspects to the game. The game is incredible and worth every penny, I got it when it was $60 and haven't regretted it one bit. Each installment is supposed to be like another whole game, only adding on to the massive galaxy that they already have.
@OrionGalaxy You can still buy Elite Dangerous Horizons ( Which is the second installment) separately for $20, on sale for 4 more days. I'm not sure if you can land at planetside bases or not with just the first installment, but the second installment comes with a planet side vehicle that you can launch from your ship to drive on the planets.
Yeah that's what I did. Bought the other one too.
Once the sale is over, both will go back to to regular price. So decided to get it too.
Can't stop playing Subnautica just yet for some reason. But I'll surely try it later, heh
@Glemish If you've read the entire conversation between us you would see that he was considering a PS4 for No Mans Land, so I'm just letting him know about Elite Dangerous, encouraging him to stay with his Xbox. Besides versatility in gaming is something everybody wants, I also tell my friends that play Elite Dangerous about Subnautica. They are both great games in their own way, each having their own unique aspects. I usually find that someone who plays Elite Dangerous is also interested in Subnautica and vice versa.

yeah was thinking of getting that game, especially since it's $20 with "deals with gold" but don't know much about it.
I think I'm going to get it.
It's the standard edition. What can I do with that? Can't land on planets?

TBH switch that around and you've got yourself a damn terrifying puddle!
