Alternate ending

Okay so I had an idea about an how the game could end (I've seen the rocket picture) and I was thinking if the precursors are extinct but their weapons are still operational it could mean that it may have been the Degrasi survivors who shot the Aurora down. Now here me out , I know it's a stretch but let me continue. The precursors are most likely long gone due to the lack of anything related to them currently in game ( I know the devs are adding precursor bases) and so I thought if the precursors are gone who shot the Aurora down.

In one of the messages you receive from your communications relay it says that a trading ship has received your distress signal and will be there eventually just like how the aurora came to get the degrasi. Now I believe this could be a cycle, it being
Ship crashes - other ship comes to rescue survivors -survivors accidentally shot down ship.

So I believe that a somewhat comical ending to the game would you being given coordinates to meet the rescue ship at (rendezvous point happens to be the mountain island, you go inside somehow trigger the firing mechanism and the rescue ship goes boom. (The cycle restarts )

Okay I'm done... Oh and yeah I know it's ridiculous.

It's pretty ridiculous XD Actually, I don't know but I think the Precursors are still alive. They're planning on adding a precursor gun on the mountain island, and at the moment if you get close to the island it shows a message saying something along the lines of "massive amounts of unidentifiable radiation in the area". People speculate (it might actually be confirmed) that this cannon is what shot the Aurora down. But it would be funny if the Degasi survivors did shoot us down. Imagine a cutscene that randomly happens later in the game where there's a rescue ship coming down and you see a cannon shot hit it, and it flies down into the water and skids along in the distance. Then later it blows up like the Aurora did. Nice idea
