Help please: Game crashes when trying to load a save

After a few weeks break I decided to give Subnautica another try.

Unfortunately I am unable to load a saved game - starting a new one works just fine but every time I try to load a saved one the game crashes.
So far I tried completly un- and reinstalling the game (this included my saved files) - again I was able to start a new game, save it but I am unable to load any save.

Well, if your savegames are from an older version just avoid using them, you will miss most new stuff added to the latest version, may also experience strange question marks on now changed technology, people just keep suggesting using the console to recreate "lost" stuff, well at least enough to get you that edge start.

It's not just the old saves I cannot load (I can perfectly live with having to restart) but I am also unable to load a savegame I made from a "new" game.
