So the data logs mention a disease that infected the crew of the other ship (degasi). Now it said that the disease alters the genetic structure of the host, so what if Margaret Maida and Baat Torgal are the sea dragon and sea emperor (i know its a stretch but food for thought).

Interesting theory. Of course a theory doesn't need spoiler tags. However, contrary to the entire Marvel Universe, any disease that alters the genetic structure of the host would be fatal. Eldon Tyrell actually nailed it on that one. We've made some advancements into retroviral engineering since then, sure, but that basic principle is still true: Post-conception mutations = death.

What I'd like more on is why there are no other traces of the Degasi crew. Apparently each of them had about six PDAs that they couldn't keep track of, yet we don't see any evidence of cooking (notice any fabricators in those base wrecks?), spare clothes, etc. We only see one bed between the three of them. Nor do we see any evidence of a power supply at their Wonderland base. There's no skeletons, either. Now if they got eaten underwater that makes sense, and we know that cave crabs will pick a body clean even above water. But if one of them made it back to the island before dying, where are his bones? Why would they build an underwater base right next to a bunch of crab snake nests? What was their mission, anyway? And why did no one come to rescue them before sending another clueless ship into the exact same path of harm?

There's still a lot of mystery surrounding the Degasi that awaits answering.
