Revamping Power - generation and transmission

It may be rather late in the development cycle to suggest something like this, and perhaps it's already been suggested and I didn't find it when I searched - there are a LOT of threads that mention power, after all - but I'd really like it if we could get some more control over our power distribution systems. It would also be nice if my base could stop forgetting about power sources, then finding them again - that would be lovely.

Suggestion 1: Ability to transmit power between bases. I like to build my first base near the thermal vent on the south side of the Safe Shallows, then build thermal plants on foundations within the vent itself. The foundation is just there to allow me to organise the plants a bit more neatly - it's the OCPD freak in me. The trouble is that the foundation is interpreted as a base, so the power of the thermal plants is just piped directly into the foundation. To make it usable in my actual base, I have to build a line of corridors either through the southern wall of the vent, or up to the top and over, which is annoying.

What I'd really like is the ability to build my power plants directly on a foundation then use power transmitters to pipe the power to my actual base.

Suggestion 2: Ability to pipe power from one source to two destinations. This just came up as I was trying to build a base in the Deep Grand Reef. I built three thermal plants next to some hydrothermal vents - gritting my teeth slightly and building them directly on the surface rather than on a nice neat foundation - then I wanted to pipe the power over to my base near the inactive lava zone entrance. I then thought it'd be neat to build some spotlights on foundations out at the entrance to the DGR, to make for a really dramatic entrance. Trouble is, I can only pipe the power from the thermal plants to one place. If I power a set of spotlights, my main base loses power. I'd really like to be able to control the power flow more precisely than that.

Suggestion 3 (now we're really pushing it): New functions for your PDA. I actually had a whole section typed up about a power control room for your base, then I realised that a dedicated room is overkill for such a function. Instead, how about adding functions to the PDA, like being able to control power flow through your base or scanning for nearby lifeforms, by plugging in to systems in the Aurora and in wrecks to download new software? You could even add an element of resource management to it by having limited storage space, so you can choose to have power management OR environment scanning, but not both, leading to a need to switch out software as needs develop.

Okay...I think that's everything for now. I need to sink more hours into this wonderful, growing game - nearly at three hundred hours!
