Larger aquariums

So we already have the alien containment as a large aquarium... but I often find that when my fish breed in there it looks so cramped.. Even when I add more layers to the top it just seems a bit small.

Something I think that would be cool would be larger aquariums. Wider is the key. Have one that's the size of the multipurpose room at least, but being able to make a massive one would be awesome too. Fit reefbacks, crab squids, and reaper leviathans in those. Could use glass tubing and observatories inside them so you can watch your giant scary fishies from the safety of your glass dome.

Go all Seaworld on your base menagerie!

The problem is that would require an even larger building to house it in. So we're really talking about two new building models, not just one, and from your description this host module would be even larger than the moon pool.

While this sounds cool, keep in mind the amount of work that revolves around your request. It's not just a tank - it's also room, with a complex model, which will then need hull values, connector hardpoints both inside and out, and textures to "paint" the thing. Compared to the new room, the aquarium would be rather easy (read: a transparent box).

In the meantime, why not just do this if you're keen to recreate Jurassic World:

    1) Build your Observation dome high up (shallow water).
    2) Build a conventional aquarium somewhere below it, at the bottom.
    3) Grab your Terraformer and build up a rock wall encircling the entire area at whatever diameter suits your fancy, from the seabed to the surface, so that nothing can escape.
    4) Release fish into your new rock-pen and delete the aquarium.
    5) Enjoy the view.

instead of having the larger aquarium inside why not make it have its own room like a multipurpose (just a thought)
