New weapon idea, overloading stun rifle (best of both worlds)

ok i have been reading through posts on this forum and there are posts from some people that want a ranged weapon like a gun and others that say we are explorers and scientists so don't need them,
after a lot of thinking i thought about the "explorers and scientists" then i thought what about Star trek?
in star trek the characters are all engineers, explorers and scientists just like we are in the game so i looked at the weapon they use and i thought "HEY why not something like that?"
so i suggest a weapon that meets both ideas, how about a rifle with a stun beam that acts like the shock from the seamoth, and that can be overloaded so that you can get one lethal shot out of it but the power surge will completely destroy it.
so now we will get a useful tool for defense against big predators AND we will also have a last resort lethal shot just in case we might need it
