Cant add or remove upgrades from scanner room

Just added the scanner room, put my first upgrade in it, the speed upgrade. Went and crafted some others. Returned to the console, and I can't add the new upgrades or remove the old ones.

Edit: As it turns out, what I wasn't able to add was the HUD upgrade. Which goes in the HUD slot. Err... oops?

    crafting bug when you craft 2 things one disappears then have to craft the item again and can't add stuff to the map room upgrade.

    I can only use the camera's in the scanner room. I am assuming there is more to it than that as i've crafted the HUD upgrade also. Can you enlighten me at all on what else can be done with this room.

    The scanner HUD goes in one of your character's slots. The ones on either side of your helmet.

    Also, the devs decided to make scanner room upgrades non-removable. So they are stuck in the room and are lost if you deconstruct it.
