Will there be weather?

I have looked briefly to see if there was an answer to this question, so if there is my apologies. Will there be weather in the game? Seems like a giant ocean planet should at least have rain. Implications of rain would obviously be rough seas and make travel difficult. Just a thought I had that I think would be a cool addition. Thoughts guys?

Although right now I just want the devs to finish their game (1.0 version) before Q4/2016.
But if they just made a quick rain event their would also be a sudden storm of complaints about having better rain graphics.
(see what I did their? )
Aside from the hurricane some aesthetic rain and thunder would be a nice touch. Who knows. Maybe it could damper visibility, etc.
On that subject... does anybody have a feel for how on-target development is? Last I heard they were aiming for an August release.
I used to follow Trello progress closely, but since seeing a few too many spoilery bits i've stayed away.
Now if the devs make building structures above the surface more practical, that's another story entirely.
True, but how cool would it be to come to the surface for air and find a storm raging above you? Even if it didn't have any affects on you underwater, I still think it would be a cool addition. What it would affect though could be visibility underwater because the clouds would be blocking the light so it would be darker underwater for longer. If they went as far as to add solar eclipses to temporarily make it dark, something like a rain storm would add darkness for a bit longer and maybe even flashes of lightning could add flashes of light underwater. Seems like it would make the game that much more immersive than it already is.
I've seen pics of bases people built on Floater Island, so obviously there is an interest. Naturally anything built above the water line should not effect Structure Integrity in any way, so that's a start. Maybe some other kind of reward/incentive could be added, though? How about a rain collector that can get fresh water without requiring any electricity? Or simply optimal efficiency solar power? Or heck, add a dingy to the vehicle list so people can put about between the above-water stuff they build.
If nothing else there is the aesthetic appeal of maybe someday building an giant aquarium fifty feet in the air.
Point being, bad weather is the negative - the risk/punishment factor for going above the water. That needs to be balanced with enough potential rewards to make doing so actually worth it, or at least worth trying.
The devs have said they need to rework their release plan since there's very little time to add the remaining things, polish it up, and release it within a month
is mention of heavy rain on the island.
