You have a very strange opinion of how I enjoy Subnautica. Its also wildly inaccurate, but I find it more strange than insulting that you seem to view me that way. All because I advocate for more options in game play. /shrug
After a day or so in game, have you not reached a point where you no longer have to fear or avoid creatures that posed a threat at the beginning? Thats the situation you say you don't like in other survival games, and yet it holds true in Subnautica as well. You should (and do) rapidly dominate the game environment, and none of the things that were a threat to you in the first few hours of play pose the slightest threat to you.
I have no idea how well you are doing in your game, but in mine I *am* at the top of the ecosystem. Just like in real life, there are creatures on planet that are larger and physically more powerful/dangerous than a human, but unless you are stupid enough to try and challenge them 1-to-1 in their environment and without any of *your* advantages (tools, weapons, tactics), they pose no threat at all. Reference any number of threads by the No Weapons faction, where they try to explain just how easy it is to avoid being eaten by anything in game, without weapons. Those threads clearly demonstrate that the human survivor has rapidly moved to the position of Apex Predator on planet, even without deliberately lethal weapons, because nothing is more powerful/dangerous/cunning as the old fashioned 'human with tools'. They may introduce something bigger, badder, scarier later...but at the moment, the player *is* the dominant life form in game. Adding options for weapons isn't going to change that, one bit.
To be honest I have not a fixed opinion of how you enjoy the game. That is why i put questionsmarks behind some sentences. I don't allow myself to judge someone with so few facts about him. I consider it a bit silly to jump to conclusions about someone too early. Too many people surprise you when you look closely/take more time to know them.
That beeing said I may view the role of the Apex predator differently. Because for me a creature that can kill me including my Seamoth as long as I don't have the PD-system onboard is at least one step above me in the ecosystem. Sure I can avoid or even kill it if I spot or hear it early enough. Sometimes the sound is buggy and I faced Reaper attacks at night, that came without the usual roar-warning...scared the shit out of me. But for the the fact that I have to constantly watch my back in certain biomes means that I am not on top of the ecosystem. Just smart enough to avoid the top or escape it when possible.
I think if the game gets enough lethal weapons to even dominate huge creatures like the Reaper Leviathan or the Sea Emperor (not yet in the stable version iirc) then it detracts from the whole atmosphere of the game or not?
With enough weapons and ammo a player could swim around even without any submarine and go something like "Reaper?! Ah f... that I just shoot it with my poison spears and it will die." Yes that may be slighty exaggerated and yes not everyone would play that way.
Of course you could always say "Nope I just don't craft those weapons." But you must admit that most human beeings would take the easier way right? Like why would anyone not craft a weapon when it is so much easier to kill with it then with a knife for example? Sure there are exceptions to that. Some people always seek challenges but the majority will not. That is why I see the options in this case as a bad thing. Because in Subnautica the atmosphere in some biomes is just good because you know you don't have the technology with you to kill everything out there and you have to stay cautious all the time.

See, that whole argument boils down to
"I don't play that way, and I wouldn't play that way if I could...but if you put those options in there, OTHER players will want to play that way, and I do not want to allow that."
Its a solo game. Nothing that happens in my game world has any affect on your game world. I can spend three weeks real time hunting down every Reaper in the game and killing it off (like a Big Game Hunter) and I enjoy the game greatly. I can also spend those three weeks building the Ultimate Mobile Base in my Cyclops, just so I can brag about it on the forums like any other owner of a custom car - and I enjoy the game greatly. I could spend those three weeks making a huge underwater farming operation, growing neat rows of every single plant in the game, and have a zoo with every single creature in the game. All three are completely valid play styles, and none of them have any effect on how other players enjoy the game. There is no competition in Subnautica, no killboard, no score. Options for the player, in a solo game, do not limit the game play for other players.

Are you reading something between my lines that just isn't there? I was refering to the negativ aspects more weapons would have to each players gameworld because it directly affects the whole gameworld of ALL players and not that I dislike how other people play their game.
You can already hunt and kill every Reaper in the game with the tools available to you. IF you want to play that way you can, not saying that you do.
So why spoil the atmosphere the game has for other players (including me) by adding more weapons to the game? You always claim for yourself that you bring us only good options and we just have to ignore them if we want to keep playing the way we are right now. Yet you won't admit that those options directly impact the way people play the game just by beeing in the game.
And if the game designers decide to add more weapons based on your ideas, you ARE changing the whole game (including mine and therefore my gameworld too), so do NOT tell me that I am the bad guy who is restricting other players fun or gameplay choices. You are constantly asking for change in a game that is weapons wise fine just as it is for many players and outright refuse to see the damage that could be done to the atmosphere of the game.
I am curious now, how would you use those weapons you want to see in the game? How would your playstyle differ from what it is right now with more weapons? Let me/us see your side of this discussion.
