graphical glitch of UI elements

so I started playing this game. yesterday. on highest settings without any problems. now today I get these holes in the UI each time I startup the game. restarting doesnt make it go away. Ive narrowed it down to the texture quality. when playing it recommended its gone, but as soon as I raise the texture quality the hole appear again.

Ive been googling about this, and saw messages about this a year ago. this still hasnt been fixed?
