So what have you done to increase your chances of being rescued?

In game, I'm role playing a survivor who wants to be rescued. So while I'm doing the whole survive and thrive bit, I'm also thinking about what I'd do to make it easier for future search and rescue efforts. This is what I've done so far:
  1. I built my main base in the safe shallows pretty near to the Aurora, but not in it's shadow (I'm next to a thermal vent SW of of it). Any search team starting at the Aurora wreck will not have far to go to find me.
  2. I tethered the Lifepod so it doesn't drift (using Pipe), and have deployed more pipe to make an arrow pointing towards my main base, which is not far away.
  3. I made certain that I have a portion of my base (an Observatory) well above sea level, so it's visible from surface vessels and air search (I built an Observatory, so I have the best possible view in all directions)
  4. Every room in my base has a Comm Relay installed, so I don't miss any messages from SAR teams who may show up.
  5. I stocked the Observatory with a locker that has Flares, a Flashlight, and a Lightstick (to signal air/surface ships). I have set up automatic spotlights on the upper exterior of my base so it is clearly visible at night.
  6. I have landscaped around my main base, making it safer to park my Cyclops nearby (I leave it surfaced, to make it more visible by air/surface searchers).
  7. I have installed multiple grow beds, planted with Creepvine Pod Plants, to make a giant glowing yellow arrow pointing at my main base.
  8. I have planted more grow beds with Creepvine Pod Plants, spelling out SOS in giant letters, which should be visible at night from any air/satellite search. I have ruthlessly removed all native Creepvine Pod Plants near my signals, to make them easier to spot.
  9. I've made some outpost bases as survival shelters, and stocked them with emergency supplies and gear. I've planted beacons for each, and placed arrows at each one that point back to the main base. these arrows are made out of pipe, and out of grow beds planted with mixed Creepvine Pod Plants and Brain Coral. If any other survivors are still alive and stumble across the shelter, they will have food/water/supplies and a clear indication of where to go next. Likewise, if a SAR team locates one of my remote shelters before spotting my main base, they will know where to look next.

Of course, since some of the later messages have been received on my Comm Relay, I have come to believe there are some hostile forces on planet, who might be hunting down the survivors of the Aurora. it's probably paranoia, from the stress of the crash and being alone without even a volleyball for so long, but I'm also building another base, one that is extremely hard to find - just in case.

Hey, someone else who enjoys being a hopeful Tom Hanks with a penchant for technology...I too have been placing comm relays around variously drifting farther and farther from the lifepod, but with no luck receiving any new messages thus far. One of them is on a peak of floater island, while another is a bit past the Aurora on a "lookout" I built on a jutting rock outcrop very near the surface, the building it's inside being several stories high. The SOS out of Creepvine is an absolutely brilliant idea and you should definitely post some screenshots because that sounds magnificent.

Or maybe I'll come across them myself someday. Keep searching sailor

Well, my base is 300m directly beneath the floating island...

    I'm hosed, aren't I?

(Surely, they can sense the beacons I've placed everywhere...)
