Unplayable

I just bought this game this morning and a few hours in I encountered the bug where you could no longer scan things to gain their blueprint. Tried everything to fix it but ended up having to start a new game ruining the hours of work I had put in. Now a few hours later in the new game I'm in my seamoth and get randomly teleported from the red grass area to some pitch black area several hundred meters below the surface. I rush to the surface to see no aurora and realize there are also no beacon markers. I search till I'm close to out of power (after using the backup cell I had on my person) then dive. I get past 800 meters and never see the floor or a single fish or anything. It's like I was teleported out of the world. I let my seamoth explode then drown thinking I'll respawn in the escape pod and be fine. Well I did respawn in the escape pod but it's now floating in their same empty endless sea. No landmarks, no sea floor, no fish, no nothing. Restarting doesn't fix it either. This is a pile of unplayable bs. Twice in a single day the game bugs completely break everything to the point of needing to restart? I just want my money back I'm not restarting a third time the same day I bought it.

So you're not interested in finding a fix for those issues? There are a lot of people who're willing to help out on these forums :) However all you did is describe the bugs, you didn't say what you're playing on (console/PC), what kind of PC you have and if you're playing on "highest experimental" settings. so that's not enough information to goin on to help you out. Also keep in mind this is an early access game, so if you are on minimum requirements, you're bound to run into performance walls from time to time.

Also for refunds you need to contact Steam Support as far as I know, they handle refunds. Seeing as you're on Xbone, I guess this would be Xbox Live Billing support?

I'm on console and I've looked all through the forums for various fixes like one guy talked about restarting (Xbox and game) Multipl times and nothing fixes it. Me and my escape pod are not even in the world anymore. There are no resources or anything just endless empty water. The first game was in normal survival and the second was in the one below it with no food. Honestly I can't imagine how someone could fix it at this point. These don't seem like time to time performance issues these are things rendering the game completely unplayable.

I understand early access I play ark and warframe and several other prerelease games and none have ever become unplayable even though they all have their fair share of bugs or glitches.

I'm not familiar with console bug fixing, but that sounds more like a corrupted installation of the game than anything else. I'd imagine a complete removal (de-install?) of Subnautica and a redownload could potentially fix it. Other than that, you might want to wait for a dev response. I've not yet heard of an issue on Xbone this severe, so I hope it is a one off installation corruption or similar :open_mouth:

if you just bought the game, and are frustrated with the bugs, you need to remember that this game is still in early access, still being built, still full of bugs. The bugs get fixed pretty quick, but get replaced by new bugs, for new parts of the game. This is all explained on the SN website. FULL OF BUGS. The devs make this very clear. So you have not been sold a defective game, you bought a game still being built.

Also, XBOX play is very new. Only a couple weeks old.

That doesn't help me in any way.
