have you ever even played as an alien before...? Carapace is handy, yes. But there are a LOT of situations where regen is more powerful. Play on the alien side more and you'll see what I mean. I'd like to see a carapace alien attack a marine expansion that's far from their base and take the whole thing out.
I took out a fully marine fortified hive (Power Silo on NS_Nothing) as a Lerk with regen and adrenaline. I just swooped in and up to the roof, there are three dark ledges at the top. Regenerated, umbra'ed, crept forward and unleashed spike showers on the teleport pad and the marines who kept coming to defend. Rinse repeat. Occasionally chomped a few frisky marines with jetpacks who thought they'd save the day. Once the teleport was down, TF next.
Ok, I wasn't totally alone, there was a fade below with a gorge healing him hurling acid rockets too, but he was only hitting the front row of turrets and defending marines. I like to think I saved the day by getting that transport pad and turret factory down.
When did this become the "Regen discussion"? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Hell, even in the manual, the example for Regeneration is a Fade taking four grenade blasts, then coming back to heave Acid Rockets. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Unless you see the death symbol with your name in front, never assume the bugger is down. Never ever. Sure, you scared him off. But he'll be back in five ... four ... *carve*
