With all the anticipation about the battery and power cell chargers, it occurred to me that there might be a potential downside if they are designed to work with the regular battery. Since there would have to be an item to place inside the chargers, a player might accidentally craft more batteries than they would ever need before they eventually build a charging station, and a large pile of extra batteries could take up a lot of space. My suggestion is that the current battery behavior be kept the way it is (i.e. the battery/power cell gets consumed when it runs out of power), but there could be a new recipe for rechargeable batteries that includes lithium (for a lithium ion battery) which, when taken out of a tool/vehicle and replaced with a fresh battery/power cell, would add a "depleted lithium ion battery" to the player's inventory, which could then be placed in a charging station and turned into a "charged lithium ion battery".

Sounds very realistic.
Just make it so that you can recycle regular depleted batteries into copper.
