Land glitching and disapearing after exploring the underwater islands

I've tested this 2-3 times just to be sure of the cause, but whenever i go near an underwater island the land on top and inside is deformed and in places see through. After this land glitch with the islands i headed back to my base and noticed that all land had disappeared and i could pass through where i knew there should be land as if it is open ocean. research online has come up with nothing so hopefully this is something that could be fixed since i love this game so much! One thing to note is saving and relaunching the game brings everything back but i would rather not have to relaunch every time i try to explore those awesome islands. I'll include before and after images of the land around my base and of the deformed island surfaces.
EDIT: I cant seem to reproduce this after another relaunch so hopefully it was just a one time thing on my end, but if it happens again ill make sure to get some screenshots and put them in this post so anyone else that might have this issue will be able to get help
