Exploring in hopes of finding anything new, I headed northwest from my base in my Seamoth. My Seamoth has a solar upgrade, an armor upgrade, and two depth compensators installed. About 10km northwest, shortly after passing the far edge of the mushroom forest and skirting an area of dunes crawling with reaper leviathans (which showed little interest in me), I came to a patch of the world where the terrain was ... just ... gone. It ended in a ragged edge of raw voxels. I backed off and started heading back to my base, but the no-terrain seemed to be spreading. I came across and explored a wreck I don't think I'd seen before, which was just hanging in nothingness with no ground under it. (Cut through three sealed doors but found nothing.) I could swim all around and under it where the ground was supposed to be. I saved, quit, and reloaded, but after reloading, the ground was still gone.
Not knowing where the ground was, I headed for the surface and proceeded back to my base at about 10m depth. My Seamoth's indicated hull strength at this point was 98%. Shortly before reaching my base I encountered creepvine, and looked down and the terrain was back. I had normal terrain the rest of the way back to my base. I took no damage during the trip. I should have still been at 98% hull strength on arrival, but didn't check to make sure of it because I had no reason to.
On my final approach to my moon pool, I swung slightly wider than I intended to and gently bumped a rock. ...And my Seamoth shattered around me. From 98% to kaboom in one tiny bump.
