Crashing that locks up computer.

So after some time i decided to try subnautica again, i was very excited. However, this time around i keep getting crashes after 15-20min that lock the image on screen and i have to manually restart my pc.

Specs:

AMD FX 8350 4.4ghz turbo
8gb RAM 1833
SSD
Radeon R9 390 updated to latest drivers.

This is unfortunately the only game that does this on my PC. I've run many other games at 2k resolutions with no issues and no overheating.

anyone have any advice, a few updates prior to this one, i put over 40hr on this game, with no crashing.

Any info, I would love to play the game. It is really disappointing that this is occurring. I don't want to try to get a refund on a game i've spend over 40+ hours on. But i need some info on the subject of fixing this issue, or if there will be a patch eventually.

I'm in a similar boat - once I get the seaglide and can zoom around I will have my nVidia GTX 650 Ti crash (Display Driver not responding message) - this can happen from 1 minute of gameplay to an hour. I usually forget about the issue as I'm building up a base or some such, and then I'll think "I'll just go find some extra copper..." and zing off - then BAM... Display Driver not responding.

About 1 in 10 of those crashes is to the point where the PC needs to be hard-reset to get it back working again.

I don't think it's heat related. Also running very latest drivers, Win10 x64 fully up to date, 16GB RAM with an i7 system.

Yeah, this is very strange, i wonder what changed since i last played, because i was completely stable before the update. I hope the devs can give us some insight on this issue.

In fact I had this on the second day playing the Oculus release. First day was flawles, second day freezes and forced reboots and today everything is fine again.
My suspicion is a corrupted save file (or something in it).
Try clearing all cache files so the terrain rebuilds next time you load the game. But be aware that any digging manually or automaticall ( by building) is removed!

How do clear the cache files?

I seem to have a similar problem, except that I can usually alt+tab or CTRL+ALT+DEL to get out of the game and end the process.
