How rock puncher can be added without terraforming

The rock puncher is freaking cool but it is on the chopping block because terraforming will be removed. How ever on steam I found a great idea. what if it only punched outcrops (thingys that give you ores) and instead of spawning ores they spawn rock grubs that the rock puncher eats. It will also punch the player. Also if rockgrubs are "Rock Puncher Larvae" Than just have it punch the player and change it's name to Cena Shrimp or something. I really like this creature and they got the animations done so it would be a shame if they scraped it.
