Experience Points

I'd love to have experience points included in the game.
the Player could gain XP for each (new) item crafted, blueprint found, cave entrance or other POI found, Radiation terminated, base (elements) built, etc.etc.
what to do with these XP ?
Player would gain Skill Points for Level-up.
Skill Points could be spent for e.g. more hit Points/Life, more O2-level, quicker Swimming, wider viewing range, more crafting possibilities (e.g. specialisation as engineer, or as biologist) etc.

    While i respect your opinion and view on this matter im affraid i must disagree with you on this. While its true that some survival games decides to take this approach of gameplay im glad that in Subnautica it is not like so. Their current approach (finding new technology blueprints through exploration instead of levelling) satisfy me completely and feels fresh 'n different from regular gameplay.

    In the end its a question of personal taste tho, you either like it as it is or you dont and im not one to flame anyone for their taste, its just that i wouldnt find this game as appealing if it was your average levelling game like Ark for example.

    What actual benefit would this style of content gating offer the player, from a gameplay perspective, over the methods of content gating we already have? I'm having trouble seeing one.
