I think that would be necessary that more one goes down in the abyssals zone more it would be dangerous to swim without vehicles. So i think under 100 meters of pronfondor one would lose a little life over the duration. if one wants to collect minerals rather deep, it would be necessary to add a component with the seamoth to catch items or create an Exosuit. The pressure would make it possible to return the game more roleplay.

I guess that would make it more realistic, but it would take away the ability to explore the little caves and things that are too big for the subs, or at least make a kind of "pressure suit".

They mean that the Exosuit is a work in progress and is going to be implemented in the future. It's going to be able to dock with the Cyclops, and they've said that it will be necessary to explore the Inactive Lava Zone in the future.

They already have an armored dive suit.
They could make it so that is part of the deep dive suit by giving you the rebreather at the same time (like they do for the radiation suit). By doing this it will make it so that once you reach 100 - 150m down you take damage slowly without the suit but with the suit you can go down to 200 - 250m. Then after 250m you start to take damage again. This would allow them to add some of the Seamoths upgrades to the Cyclops and add 2 more upgrades to the Seamoth. The 2 new upgrades would be a "collector arm" (used to gather stuff and places it into the Seamoths cargo) and a "builder arm" (can be used like the hand held version so it uses the stuff in the Seamoths cargo and would be changed so that instead of pressing "E" to dis-assemble you would hold "Shift" and left click [like you do when your moving cargo around]). This would require the devs to change the Seamoth so it has 6 upgrade slots instead of 4. When changing it to have 6 slots it would allow the devs to alter the Seamoth so that 3 slots are in their current location and have the other 3 on the other side of the sub. Or they could just add another mini sub like the Seamoth but have it so it is a little bigger (longer) and so it has 2 power cells instead of 1 and 8 upgrade slots so it can use all of the Seamoths upgrades (saves time on coding). All of this will allow the new mini sub to do everything the Seamoth does (animation wise) but have a different set of specs in regards to size, speed, depth, capacity, power, etc.
