Compressed O2 bottles

Hi,
I think it would be quite nice if we could craft some sort of compressed O2 bottles to replenish oxygen on the go. What I'm thinking about is that you would need to build a special module in one of your bases outside of the water (something like the water filter but outside rather than inside the water), and then feed some materials to the machine and get a consumable item that can refill your oxygen tanks once consumed.
This would push the players towards building specialised bases either close to the surface or on an island, and it would also allow us for deeper and longer exploration trips, especially inside caves and such.
If the balancing is done right (how much oxygen you get per inventory slot) I think this could be quite interesting. It would need to be done in such a way that it would be worth to craft one of these items instead of just bringing additional O2 tanks with you (i.e. the amount of O2 per inventory space used would need to be worth).
What do you guys think?

The machine would pump in compressed air and when full could be left in the inventory.
When needed the bottle could be used to "instantly" add something like 30 seconds of air.
This would leave an empty bottle in the inventory for later reuse.
