This means you reach level 3 with 7500 score points. Assuming that ns2 players collects about 5-10 score points per minute it takes around 25 - 13 hours to reach level 3.
Holy crap do I actually need 13 500 score points for level 5? That's going to take forever for me to get out of rookie... What were they thinking?
Lets you play on rookie only servers for alot longer? you get to play the game some what free of the "Vet's", you can still play on any server, you can still command, you will just stay green longer.
I think its better alot better than what it used to be.

I don't think you understand, what he said was that you need 7,500 points to reach level 3 - which is enough to join other servers - but you can continue to join Rookie Only servers until level 5.
And since you are 6,221 out of 7,500 you're not far away.
Alternatively, you can just complete the tutorial and then you will also be able to join other servers.
Lastly, you can see your own hive level and the points needed to get to the next level at the main menu just below your name.
consider that in most games, 50 - 100 hrs is a decent chunk. In ns2, 250 hrs is still nub. So, now that rooks are green til lvl 5, it's at least a little more accurate in regards to how rookies are considered in this game. Be glad you can be sheltered for longer!

After rookies complaining that they getting stomped by the vets, they are complaining now that they are rookies for to long.
Jesus.
And whats the problem of investing the few minutes for the tutorial?
Even a NS1 "vet" can learn something here, cause some things have changed in NS2.
Play the tutorial and thats it.
After that you can join every server.
And btw.
I played Battlefield Bad Company 2 and BF3 alot.
And what should i say:
BF4 didnt care about this, i have startet @ level 0 there again (shocking)
Today I encountered a player complaining that the prolonged time rookies spent on rookie only servers now lead to rookies having comm badges despite having absolutely no idea about commanding properly.
Is it possible for rookies to actually get comm badges on rookies servers, and if yes, shouldn't that NOT be the case? (Since the badge should be a sign of commanding skill, and you're not learning as much (or rather a lot less) in rookie only environments)
This felt like an appropriate thread to mention it, since I didn't want to start a new one. Sorry for hijacking it.
