It is possible that our stable saved games will not be valid in the future?

I had the hope that our stable saved games were safe. After all, it is possible, although not easy, to maintain the stability of saved games although some mechanics or items were changed (or not, i dont know). But i have realized that introducing map changes is harder to harmonize with older saved games. So... are our sable games eternals :o ?

I know that the most probably answer is no, but the hope is the last on be lost :# .

I would be very very very surprised if saved games were viable forever. This game is still in development so things will change.

I even believe it's recommended somewhere to restart a new game after every stable update, just so any new content added loads/functions properly. But I don't know if I'm just making that up or not.

In any case, I prefer to restart a new game from scratch every new stable update, instead of hoping if existing ones work with new objects/items added or new biomes.

Well, I have 2 saved games in the H20 stable build. One is a survival game that I started not long after H20 hit. The other is a hardcore game that I started a week ago. Now, there have been a few minor updates that have happened - for instance, new wrecks (I won't say more than this because spoilers). The new wreck appeared in my hardcore game, but not in my survival game. On the flip side, they made it so you can no longer build power plants on the back of your cyclops - my survival mode cyclops has a nuclear power plant and 4 solar panels strapped to the top. These appear to still function, but if I load the game and deconstruct them, I cannot re-build them.

Bottom line: destroyah is right. The more time goes by, the more unstable your game will probably be, and the more new goodies you simply won't have.
