Location dependant modules

Wouldn't it be a good idea if we had certain modules that could only be built in certain places? Stuff like the thermal plant (and to a much lesser extent solar cells), that will only work if it's built in a specific environment.

A couple of examples:

- A quartz fabricator that requires high pressure to mature quartz crystals, and therefore needs to be built below a certain depth (e.g. 400m)
- A titanium extractor, that will only be able to extract titanium from places where there is molten rock underneath the surface (close to geysers, and such things)
- Some other stuff that requires the surrounding waters to be completely still, and therefore only working inside a cave or in really deep waters
- Something that will only work in the dark

If these "special location modules" would give some nice benefits it would push the players towards exploration for sure, and it would also push us towards having different bases in different places.

Thoughts?

Now, the only problem with quartz/titanium fabrication is currently there's a lack of need for it. I mean, sure, it would help you build big bases, but there's not a lot of cause for having a big base. This might be a good idea if you can think of a reason for wanting unlimited materials..

That said this could make freighter drones a thing.

I definitely like the concept, but this is kind of already a thing. Thermal generators can only be used near natural heat vents, solar power can only be used in direct sunlight, and bioreactors and nuclear generators require resources found only in certain areas. Your idea for further rewarding exploration doesn't make sense, but the concept behind it is exciting.
