I can´t place any generator on the Cyclops anymore, although i had some solar cells at the exact same spot before.

It was never an intentional feature. Cyclops upgrades coming later to remedy that.

I believe that the upgrade in either the blood kelp or the Koosh will have an upgrade for that, just based on timing of addition.
