Alright, i don't know how long this post is going to be, so i am sorry if it turns into a wall of text, but lets just get to it already.
Issues:
1. Lack of lethal ranged weapon (stay with me here, okay? i know the idea is probably frowned upon, up front)
2. Lack of gloves that aren't radiation protection
3. Lack of upgrades for certain gear/tools
4. Obsolete weapons/tools/gear
5. Benches
6. Lack of mapping system/beacon system
7. Fauna diversity
8. Upgrade modules
Okay, now that we have a section list, lets get started.
1. Lack of lethal ranged weapon
I Imagine the idea of having any lethal weapons in the game besides the knife is very unpopular with the developers - however, as more and more hostile, dangerous and near-invincible fauna appears in the game world, better defenses are also needed (AGAIN, HEAR ME OUT HERE) other than the stasis rifle/repulsion/propulsion cannon, especially considering that the stasis rifle is basically obsolete if you have a repulsion gun. i suggest you add something like a Harpoon gun that takes a long time to reload, has only 1 shot, uses the same 1 ammo that you fire (and retrieve), and said ammo deteriorates on use on par with the knife, and has a projectile travel time... this, i think, would be a very rewarding weapon to use, as it would require absolute precision, resulting in a great emotional reward if you hit a bullseye at the last second before getting swallowed - oh, and Reaper Leviathans - along with future huge, dangerous fauna, should obviously be immune to this weapon.. it should be reserved/situational use only, for getting rid of smaller predators like stalkers, sand sharks and bone sharks (bone sharks requiring 2 well placed shots before dying off.. but i would leave those stats for the devs)
2. Lack of gloves that aren't radiation protection
The lack of gloves that aren't radiation-protective gloves really annoys me to a great degree... you could easily add some gloves that increases your "grab"-range (able to pick stuff up from a slightly further distance) or some gloves that has a passive chance to increase the amount of resources you pick up (you pick up 1 quartz, but you receive 1-2 extra) - the standard edition of these gloves should only make basic materials (like titanium, quartz, acid mushrooms and copper) have a chance to spawn more than 1 entity, whereas the upgraded version (made at workbench/mod station) would include rarer materials like gold, diamond and lithium along with the basic materials.. the passive chance of getting extra materials i leave up to the devs, but preferably the chance should be ridiculously small to increase the reward-feeling, like 2-5% chance per resource pick-up
3. Lack of upgrades for certain gear/tools
It Annoys me that i can only modify a total of 4 (excluding the laser cutter for now) items out of what, 20-30 gear pieces/tools.
Make it possible to modify items like the flashlight, scanner, stasis rifle, welder, laser cutter, rebreather, swimsuits etc.
4. Obsolete weapons/tools/gear
Stasis rifle becomes just about obsolete once you get the propulsion cannon, this needs to be addressed somehow.
Current Generators, Gravispheres, Pipes, Laser Cutters, Dive Reels, Flares and Storage cubes are all EXTREMELY situational (on the brink of useless) tools/machines that you could easily remove without causing much harm.. you should either remove these items or give them greater purpose (i know the laser cutter in particular is under development and will see better usage in due time, but stuff like the current generator is next to useless)
5. Benches
i cannot for the life of me figure out what the purpose of this appliance is. i get that my vital signs drop slower by sitting on one, but the whole purpose of that is defeated seeing as i can't do ANYTHING (not build, look at PDA or ANYTHING) while i sit on a bench... what the.. why is this here?? even if i sit on it to conserve energy, wouldn't i just be better off simply hitting the escape button and pausing the game?
the bench is without a doubt thee most obsolete item in the game.
6. Lack of mapping system/beacon system
Okay, so lets get this straight - this guy - with all his advanced technology, would rather spend time, effort and his life, gathering materials for complicated beacon drones, rather than simply make a map on a piece of paper (or in some digital ipad-like tool, as i imagine they have in the future).. this makes little sense to me, as a simple map would not only be superior, it would also be faster, more accurate and less expensive - not to mention with the reduced chance of loosing your life when trying to deploy a beacon at a certain area...
7. Fauna diversity
Gief turtles (both small and big), shellfish (both small and big) and more whale variations - that is all... perhaps add a few more land-based creatures as well - despite the fact that there is very little of it.
8. Upgrade modules
some upgrade modules are far superior to others.. this almost go without saying, but depth modules and storage modules (for the seamoth) are far superior to the power efficiency and solar power cell modules - just as an example. even equipping your seamoth with torpedo modules are detrimental as it would be more cost effective to simply exit the seamoth and blast your pursuer with a repulsion gun and save the module slot for storage or depth modules.. basically, i suggest you either nerf some modules, or drastically buff the weak ones.
Thanks for reading, i hope you enjoyed my suggestions - by all means, if you do or don't, feel free to add a reply stating what you do/don't like about them.
remember, we're just throwing around ideas here, so don't bash me too hard if you consider something i said 100% factually incorrect.

I had some similar ideas in my idea post as well. I'll happily respond to yours 1 by 1.
1. For a lethal range weapon I think it would be a good idea to have a spear gun that is single fire and each spear takes up the room of a torpedo in your inventory. This discourages downright slaughter behavior but allows one to gear up to take down that one annoying beasty. Alternatively, modify it with the dive reel to allow you to hook on to things with the spear gun. This could allow several behaviors, you being dragged by something, you dragging something to you, and you tethering something to the ground. Before any lethal weapons come in to play wildlife needs to respawn in a dynamic way or people will be discourage when the world dies even faster than it already does.
2. I like this, maybe not replication of mats you pick up but instead combine them with the gravsphere technology to make gloves that pull stuff toward you, then do away with the propulsion cannon and just have the repulsion cannon or maybe even remove it.
3. I think this is in the works, but I agree it should happen. Mod scanner for longer range or faster scans. Nerf stasis rifle then mod it to allow stasis of larger creatures or allow it to be placed on the ground and create a stasis bubble around an area for as long as the charge holds. Seaglide energy efficiency upgrade or vacuum upgrade to allow it to suck in nearby resources. Flashlight energy effciency or Range and width upgrade etc.
4. Rework current generator into a base defense item like a tesla coil. Rework gravisphere into a farming bot then will farm your crops for you in the farming update. Pipes rework into oxygen system from brain coral to base, change them to not look so awful. Remove flare, remove storage cube.
5. Bench is for reading PDA while not losing food and water, also for aesthetics for people who want that stuff. Fine as is for those who want it.
6. Map room in the works currently.
7. This I agree on.
8. Agreed here as well. For seamoth, remove power efficiency mod, add oxygen generator mod that increases power consumption rate but the seamoth no longer need to come up for air (in the future vehicles and bases will have oxygen needs). Nerf Perimeter defense to require a full charge to make leviathans let go. Somehow make torpedos useful, etc.
i only have one grudge: like i said in my post, i can't read PDA or do ANYTHING while sitting on a bench.
