Shining new toy

Looks like we got a shiny - and shining new toy to play with:

Floodlight.jpg

In the wreck next to the water filtration machine there is a floodlight. this can be scanned and you will get a blueprint: Floodlight. The floodlight runs on battery power and the battery expires eventually (actually quite fast) But... you casn disassemble it and get a brand new battery back so you can build it again. I also didn't find a swith to turn it off. While I had difficulties making one in the Blood Kelp zone (it simply disappeared after construction) they worked in Grassy Plains and Safe Shallows where I tested them, too.

Hopefully, the finished version will draw from base power as well rather than running entirely on replaceable cells.
A remote-control 'on-off' switch in the base would be a capital idea, too.

@Bugzapper: I am quite sure this is not the final version of the item. If I were to implement a new item I would start with a mock-up or a prototype and if it works well then implement its full functionality.

@policeswat45: I discovered the blueprint yesterday in a creative game and tried to scan it today as I remembered reading a Trello card about this topic. And it worked...

Maybe all fragments are only placeholders for broken tech and the floodlight is the first test how to improve the scanning tech system.

Shame that I overlooked the floodlight too. Thought it wouldn't be scannable and just broken art.

    This stable or experimental atm?

Experimental. Stable build is H2.0 (27408 I think).

Discovered yesterday that in creative mode (experimental) you can craft LED Lights at the fabricator. These are items and can be placed and picked up. (Sorry, no image) They illuminate an area and do not seem to use their battery - at the moment, I am quite sure this will be added. But then, it was creative mode where nothing uses up battery...

Oh these days, its like being a discoverer...
