Seamoth taking damage from small fish collision?

I'm playing experimental and am noticing that collisions with small fish is causing between 4-6 points of damage to the Seamoth per hit. Is this intended?
This is NOT below safe recommended depth where hull damage is expected and warned. Anywhere, at any depth, if a small fish of any kind (not just the aggressive Biter Fish) collides with the Seamoth and I don't even have to be moving very fast for this to occur.
I'm new to Experimental so I'm not sure if this is a known issue or a bug, or intended behavior. As an avid explorer, this is causing quite a bit of damage to my Seamoth in one adventure/exploration cycle per Power Cell charge.

I wonder if the hull reinforcement module has any effect on this?
