Biomes without enough predators ?

While paying a lengthy visit to the sparse reef and grand reef biomes , I failed to encounter any hostiles save for one spiky plant. That's while gathering enough materials to fill 6 lockers. Considering those biomes feature high tech loot and are well away from spawn , shouldn't they have the predatory pressure to match ? Something to add real tension to the scavenging.

    The predators that will lurk the grand reef haven't been implemented yet.

    Though we have sea treaders coming to the plains, crab squids, spine eels and numerous other nasties.

    They haven't fully decided on the experience these biomes will have yet.
