If you loose one end and try to rebuild another one.
Sometimes is just don't open... So much for tunnel rush.

    Happening on several server actually.
    The last to date is 188.63.57.183:27021 : "Beginner welcome" etc...

    Apparently it's when you die as gorge and go Gorge again to build the new end of the tunnel.
    Something (Tunnel ID or owner) is lost in the process. If it can't reconnect the first end (usually in hive) it means the game can't find it (by ID or owner).

    There are 0 issues I've heard or seen with this in comp mod.

    as @Yojimbo said it's a well known vanilla bug, I've mostly noticed it when re-placing the second tunnel, after a hive has been lost, but I don't think anyone has ever managed any repro steps. :(

    IIRC the issue is alot more common of high population servers, I can't remember all the specifics but @SamusDroid perhaps can enlighten you.

    Ghoul knows more about it than I do. He apparently redid all the tunnel code so this might have gotten fixed by that
