Command Console Blockade

I was playing a game with 2 good teams. The marines (not surprisingly) was in a tight spot. The aliens got the onos fades coming towards our base. The commander thought it would be funny to place 5 or 6 cc in the hallway (right outside the base) and we went ahead a built them. Oh god did that work really well against the onos. They had to hop and hop all around that, giving the marines and turrets ample time to kill it. The CC's are cheap and have the highest HP of all the structures (I think). We ended up building a new base inside the vents before we got spore r@ped to death. That was a fun game. So using CC as blockades is good. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

But damn expensive. That's 150 - 180 resources you're wasting right there. If the aliens have map control, it's going to take a LONG time to regain that.

I've found that HA/HMG/welder marines work very well in a bind, as long as they stick together and don't stop moving until they get to a hive.

I agree....Its waste of resourcese, and indeed you can use thos for turrets and more sutff

Maybe building a dummy CC would help though? imagine them rushing a base expecting to end it, then you go and wipe out their hives? Risky, but im sure u could pull off killing 2 hives if ur lucky

I've seen the marines do something very similar. The commander simply began placing tons of siege turrets. They have quite a bit of health, more than a normal turret, and they're cheap as all get-out. Even worse, he was trying to place those siege turrets right on top of the aliens to get them stuck.

I have to say that tactic left a bad taste in my mouth. Placing a structure on top of an onos might be effective, but it certainly feels like its exploit-ish.

I played a game where the comm punished bad marines by dropping various buildings on them.

LOL, in actuallyity (is that a word?) that can actually really can easily happen, because if you read the manual, you can see that those buildings can be built anywhere, so why not inside a alien? This meaning that that aint really an exploit.
