Horizontal fast-travel through bases

I know I'm not the only one who has mentioned something along the lines of a track to let you zip around horizontally through extremely large bases, but I do want to suggest at least a placeholder to the devs if there are eventual plans for something like this. Basically, when we have vertical connectors with a ladder, there's instant transportation from one depth to another, which is very nice. Why not have a special hallway or bulkhead type that allows something like this horizontally? I've got a base in the safe shallows by the mushroom forest in the southwest that has started branching back towards the escape pod with eventual plans to go all the way to the Aurora, and it takes a LONG time to get anywhere indoors...
So yeah, I know it's been mentioned before, but I want to suggest that we can at least get a placeholder if the devs want to implement it later on so that we can maybe move in our bases more efficiently for now.
