Mini-games and tech upgrades

Now what if we were to upgrade things like the sonar module, mapping system (If the devs implement it), and other computer related upgrades or repairs by playing small minigames? It would be fun, distract a little from the main game, and have a new way of improving our technology. Think about it, you start off with the sonar module, after some minigames you can then see scrap metal as well, then quartz, limestone chunks, lithium, sandstone, basalt, fragments, Reapers, increase the scan distance, increase the amount of time we see what the sonar picks up, etc. Of course for lots of these you would need to find the thing first, that way you don't get to find it immediately. What do you guys think?

Forget about survival! Forget about thriving and adjusting to an alien environment! If I could put an arcade or a rec room of any kind in my base, then my avatar can subsist on dried kelp and rainwater, for all I care!
