Suggest games besides Prime
I'm gonna rent a GameCube and Metroid Prime over Thanksgiving break. What other good games are there?
Eternal Darkness. It's easily the greatest game on the Game Cube after Prime. Hell, I'd rank it as my second favorite single player game ever, for any system (after Prime, of course). It's a psychological thriller with an awesome story and some sweet effects.
With that and Prime, you've got a good 50+ hours of gameplay if you plan on beating them both.
If you're planning on having any friends over, and you'll be renting multiple controllers, Smash Brothers. No questions asked, no other options.
That's about all I've played that I can highly recommend. NS took too much of the video game renting out of my last summer.
If you don't mind slight kiddieness, then Super Smash Bros. Melee. Nothing is more annoying than hearing Pika shout, but nothing is more satisfying than hearing it scream .
If you want a time gobbling RPG you can do with 4 friends splitscreen, then Phantasy Star Online Episodes I & II. Seeing as how you are renting, then maybe the RPG isn't a good idea (yet is so thin on plot, you might not care, all hack and slash).
Smash Bros. Melee is my favorite GC game, but don't get it unless you know you'll have 4 people to play it with.
As for single player stuff, I would suggest Prime, Eternal Darkness, and Pikmin. Pikmin is just amazing, and it's structured so that you really can't spend too much time on it (30 "days" to get all the parts, limited amount of time per day).
Most people seemed to like Mario Sunshine as well, but I didn't care for it too much.
Smash Bros. Melee is the best Gamecube multiplayer game out there.. even the single player can be challenging as heck. It may get boring if you're not the fighting game type I guess, tossed with some silliness, but I highly recommend it!

Smash bors my very first GC game very good! the proof is everyone else said it too . Also Resident Evil, Agent under fire, Rogue leader (if you like that stuff fairly good grafics), Metroid prime and thats it!!
I know you allready said you were getting Metroid Prime but I had to finish my list .

I strongly disliked SFA. I really seriously do NOT reccomend it, especially seeing as how you'd probably be playing with others at thanksgiving anyways. And however dull it becomes to play, it is definitely a hundred times more boring to watch. Super Smash Brothers Melee is a very good choice in my opinion.
Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 are simply amazing! Pikmin was great, and short too, so its a good game to rent. Mario Sunshine is pretty good, but you'll never finish it in time. Natural Selection GC is good, but it hasn't come out yet
And Dead or Alive (almost pr0n) Volleyball!! Oh, Gamecube, right...

Thanks for warning me not to ever ever tough Starcraft Adventures, even though I knew it would be horrible anyway.
And as far as SSB melee, i have no friends to super smash heh. plus the thing will prolly come with 2 controllers if i'm lucky, let alone 4...

It is nothing like the first one (apart from location and characters) and has lots more plot.
And if your good at it you'll complete it quickly.
Quick hint: Chris gets more story than Jill, but Jill gets bigger guns (I was Chris)
