This is an old topic i brought up either this year or last year, but i really believe that there should be weather in the game. i want to see massive storms and hurricanes, or just average rain. and maybe some oceans with different climates. from warm, tropical water to cold, arctic water. and maybe some new creatures that will only show up during this weather. i would love to see this in the game.

Ive thought about storms as well, and how to make it more than just a top-water scene change when you spend so much time below water. So first off i had some ideas that i thought should globally happen during storms, an increased monster agro radius (its storming they would be uncomfortable too), as well as just a darker setting below-water. the clouds or w/e above should make it darker and harder to see, maybe not be a lot and highly reduced effects in caves. I also thought it would be cool for (mostly) different effects in different areas. The seadweed zones could have the seaweed leafs spread out more and maybe swinging about to further make it harder to see. The flats could have a bigger stronger current (still thinking they plan to implement one) and those glowing sting ray blue screachers might become somewhat electrically charged during storms idk. The shallows could have small and rare-er whirlpools form. The lava zones could have eruptions of lava. Last IDK about the actual climate but we could have hail storms, and or lightning, which would be cool if it did it in telegraphed cones with multiple small quick strikes, that way sure it could hurt if you get hit but it wont be as random as just giant lightning strikes, and you can see it building up the light.
Naturally it'd be usefull for the storms to have some benefit, the storm kicks up dirt and quarts, uncovering useful things to farm. Maybe during storms you can find richer veins of materials with possible double resources? idk but I would like weather and storms to play a roll in the game more than just aesthetic let me know what you think :)

I agree storms and clouds should be a given. Rough tides and currents from the weather should occur. I also think the day and night cycle needs to be tweaked better.

I also agree that there should be different water climates and rare aquatic species in those areas.

I like this idea in general, but I'd never given it much thought. There really should be at least SOME degree of weather variation in this game.
