Change in Numbers and Behaviour of Stalkers Since Building a Base in the CreepVine Forest

I wish to report a possible bug please.

Build 21956
Freedom Mode

I have recently built myself a home in the CreepVine Forest. When I was building I noted that I was doing so some 20 feet away from a Stalker nest, and he used to attack me frequently. Soon after building this complex I noticed a change in the behaviour of the Stalkers.

1) There seems to have been a drastic drop in numbers of Stalkers - there are now only two

2) All they do now is hover motionless in the water. When I approach and touch them they swim off for a few feet and then become motionless again with no attempts to attack me.

I am wondering something has happened which may have been caused by the building.

Here are the only two Stalkers I find and these are the motionless/hovering ones:

As a temporary fix, and a kind of control experiment, I have just used the debug thing to spawn 6 stalkers. They immediately appeared and were vary angry. I had to dash to my base. I am now looking out of the windows watching them swim about. I'll see what they do over time.

    Okay, a further update.

The 6 stalkers did not stray far from the exact spot I spawned them. I just dropped a piece of scrap metal in their midst to see what they would do. They all immediately attacked it. But then 4 of them just "died" and sank to the sea bed where they lay. The fifth then turned on me and attacked me but he wasn't delivering any damage to me. I am not sure what happened to the sixth stalker. He just seems to have disappeared.

Did the stalkers fight amongst themselves and kill each other? Is this what they are supposed to do in the game?

5th Stalker attacks me but no damage is caused to me. My blood does not flow either.

Not sure if this helps any of the devs or if they are even seeing this. Or am I just wasting my time?

    Many thanks.

I have been out of touch, been catching up on my danish.

As always I'll ask around and then see if we should get a bug in about it.

    tak.

Looking at the commits it looks like stalkers are now angry at items of the type LARGEMEAT. It is possible that they are also LARGEMEAT and thus they go mano a mano until .... THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.

Will have to spawn some today and see what happens.

    Hi

Not sure if this helps but the one live Stalker I had left has just died. He was fine until I started expanding my base. As it grew he started to show an interest in it by biting the new base. Then as I added more corridors he just stopped moving. If I touch him he roars and shudders but that's all he does. I am not sure if he has "died" or is stuck.

Update. On reloading the game the stalker seems to have freed itself, though it still keeps furiously stabbing at he decking with his snout. It's almost like he can see where his nest was and is trying to get at it. Or he's just trying to eat the decking in the same way they do to the scrap metal.

I say he freed himself once I reloaded the game but that was on the third reload. After the first two reloads he was still there.

So i just tried it in 22410. Stalkers definitely eat each other now.

The stuck issue has to do with legs since the creatures ai hasn't, to my knowledge, been updated since they legs went in I'm pretty sure they don't know that the legs exist at all and so they may be stuck.

    Thanks Confused.

Now that they eat each other will they also spawn new ones? Else vary quickly we will see only one stalker. Which could make hunting for stalker teeth quite difficult.
