My thoughts on the intro/story

Okay this is and isn't me predicting the story but I just wanted to say a few things that I've picked up on throughout playing.

The first thing I wanted to look at and mention was about the intro where the voice says "A single life pod jet escaped prior to impact" This means that the person "You" escaped before the ship started going down, whether this means that there were warnings of a attack, you knew something was wrong and I'm also thinking why only YOU would of escaped, this may be changed in future like maybe multiplayer or even crashed life pods that failed to land or something but you could also be a very important person and that's why you escaped first.

Second is the fact that a "Mysterious energy Pulse" Shot you down, it doesn't mention if it was machine, animal or even something the landscape/gravity kind of thing that shot you, but it also doesn't say where the attack came from, so it could be some massive creature in the ocean with some beam kinds power thing (I don't know it sounds kinda weird) or it could be some rival alien ships, or some alien lifeforms on the ocean planet that didn't want you coming down to their planet, or it could even be people back at earth that planned that attack with only one survivor for research or other experiments, which also makes sense with the third bit.

No rescue team has come yet? Surely in the late 22nd century you would know if a spaceship had been attacked or crashed and they would defiantly be able to come and rescue and scavenge for resources (Although it could be difficult if the Auora had traveled a long distance to reach the world, there could be other reasons why no one has came to rescue yet.

Fourthly this is just my idea is the world we are on named Subnautica? It seems like the type of name for a planet and matches the planets description too, so I think the planet is called Subnautica.

Lastly I think that there will be more clues added on the Auora as I saw on their trello page that they were deciding on story and how they were going to deliver it to the players mentioning that they might add general clues and suggestions to what happend, quite a few I think will be based around the Auora if added.

Just some things I was thinking of let me know what you think and any other suggestions or ideas that might be a part of the story

'Prior to Impact' means before the Aurora hit the planet, not before the energy pulse was fired.

At least, that is how I have always interpreted it.

The Aurora is an Advance Terra-forming ship, sent ahead of the colony ships to terra-form the planet and get it ready for the colonists that will follow. That is the story so far.

My money is that the "Energy Pulse" wasn't a projectile fired at all, but the effect of a Warper teleporting aboard the ship, which would immediately flood the area with water gushing through the portal, and allow the monster to attack people inside.

Ahhh that makes sense about the Prior to Impact, Hmm I wonder if it means the energy pulse or the Planet, thanks for the reply.

That sounds awesome lol I would love to see a cut scene of that but how would the warper teleport into space and how would a big monster fit through the gap of the portal but again it all sounds VERY cool, my prediction is it's something coming from the Planet, I'm not sure what though.

@04Leonhardt , wow that is a stretch in my eyes but I do agree it would be awesome if that was the case...

Then again it would be anticlimactic if you actually finally see the big badass creature that took down an entire ship... and it was a warper which is about the size of 2 humans :|

I think it's more badass that a Warper did it completely on accident.

    Was all like

"Hey Bob, look at that giant thing up in space"
    "Oh cool."
"I'm gonna go take a look at it."
    *Zoop*
"Oh Gosh. Oh Jeez. Everyone's dying. I should get out of here."
    *Zoop*
    "So, how was it?"
    "Nice folk."
    *Distant earth-shattering crash*
