Floating Power Generator

I was attempting to use a propulsion gun to remove some bushes from around my base.  When I tried to grab the bushes, the gun instead grabbed my generator.  I clicked the right mouse button again, and watched my generator go flying.  I watched as it cleared the surface, kept going for a few seconds, started descending, and then got stuck. I can still see it floating up there.

Confused

basically, there is a distnace at which the world stops running. once past that distance  things simply freeze. you can get closer to the generator and it should start to move again.
