Stuck on the loading screen

I have encountered a pretty severe bug when trying to play the game. It starts up and gets to the main menu just fine, but when I attempt to load or go for a new game, it goes onto the loading screen of burning ship and stays there (after a short while the music stops). At this point when I attempt to close the game, I can do so in a way, but the process of subnautica.exe refuses to stop. Even when trying to close it through task manager, it just doesn't react. No error message or anything, just ignoring me, and I have to restart the computer to make it go away. I have let it load for about 30 minutes to make sure, there was no change. I've tried to update my drivers and force it into the directx9, but there was no change. This all started after the newest patch, before it ran fine, though I did encounter not being able to stop the process when I closed the game at loading before, so I'm not sure if that's a part of it.
