I think eggs should add some things that are special to the creatures, not just power modules and such but also:
Reaper Leviathan egg: Retractable claws for the Cyclops
Gasopod egg: Gaspod cannons for the Cyclops and/or seamoth
Cavecrawler egg: A very small vehicle that ataches to walls and can collect materials (But has a small cargo space)
