Hit new game, loading screen pops up, hear water splashing, game crashes

I have looked through the forums for solutions since I bought the game, I re-installed the game, I re-installed my visual c++, updated my video and audio drivers, verified my game cache. I do not know what I can possibly do else to get this game to launch. Every time I hit new game and then click survival, it pulls of the loading screen with the crashing ship, I hear music for a bit. Then the words loading pop up in the lower left hand corner, and it goes up to 100%, then I hear crashing waves and moving water. It still stays on the screen with the ship in space, and nothing happens no matter how long I wait. Eventually, if I click my mouse at all, the game crashes and I get a "close the game" promt from windows.

What else is there other than re-installing again that I can do?

nvm, 4th reinstall was the charm and got it going

Normally it's third time is the charm. Did you do anything else that could have fixed it? Removed an update from windows, scanned for malware/viruses, updated drivers etc? It might help someone else further down the line
