lag fixable on my end?

Forgive me if the bug report location isn't exactly where I should post this, though it is a problem that I'm sure is already known about, I just want to see if its at least temporarily fixable on my end. Recently I have been getting a lot of lag thats getting noticeably worse, I tried to change settings to lowest graphics quality, but that actually had worse lag than recommended setting. Any idea on how I can fix this? So far game is getting really hard to play with it, though I notice it is only where my ships/bases/lifepod are located.
