You might have thousands of players pressing pause when they hear "dinner 's ready" (e.g.) and they're getting more. Please think of your responsibility and our electricity bills. It's simply not necessary. Right? Thanks!
Their responsibility for your power consumption? Riiiight.
LOL. Well said. Your are my hero.
But frankly ... i didn't test it out but I'm pretty sure that playing (or pausing) Subnautica needs a minimum of 200 Watts more than my whole idling system.
Please imagine only(!) one thousand players pausing for an hour. Thats nearly a quarter of a megawatt.
In my simple opinion: That mustn't be.
PS: You cannot assume that everyone knows how hungry this little game is. Especially when they press Escape and pause the whole show. And that - over years - will consume Gigawatts for NOTHING - and that's what i call responsibility.
Yes, you're absolutely right. You are pooping all over.
Even though this is not comparable it's in the company's responsibility if the cheese is e.g. contaminated. Never mentioned why computers switch down clock speed if there is no use for high performance? Why new cars stop their motors automatically when the driver stops? Well, don't know. Maybe you're too young.
It's corresponding to zeitgeist, it saves energy, is environmental protection, smart and if possible simply 'the right thing'.
What you mean, 2cough? Is there a chance to save some Gigawatts by one single effort?
I don't disagree that if it can be done, it should be. I'm just saying, if you're wanting to have less pwr consumption during a pause, why not just save and close the program? We both understand it's early access right now, I know save states have room for improvement, but so does everything, eh?

Well I see you point and I do it since i know. But as said: You cannot assume that everyone knows. On the contrary - very few players know that. They pause and go away for whatever .. maybe for hours.
So let's do the right thing. Do we have a consensus?

Devs please: If you can do it, do it.
