Running out of oxygen, and darkening cave lighting show same effect. Confusing!

When you enter a dark cave, it dims the lighting to appear dark like it should. When you run out of oxygen, it gradually dims your screen in a similar matter. Numerous times I thought I was dying when entering a cave, but it was really just getting darker.

Running out of oxygen should have a different visual effect to make it look different from entering the spooky caves IMO.

Never had this problem myself, but the visual effect for running out of air could darken on the edge of the screen and move to black out the center of your field of view.Rough branching lines could form at the edge of the screen to look like constricting blood vessels in the eye. The dark blood vessels could become more visible as the effect continues.
Maybe a gasping sound of some sort too when your tank hits empty too.

They do? I mean common sense: If someone thinks they are indeed running out of oxygen even if they're simply entering a cave, I think we can assume they will glance at their oxygen lol-- if they don't frankly it is their own fault

Though if anything should change I think the whole "running out of air" thing could be de-dramatized so to speak :P

I like the 'running out of air' effect where your view dims to black, but it needs alteration to differentiate it from the cave darkening. Probably not the most important thing in the world, but still useful to change.
