It depends, if I'm just creating a junk/joke file for a ridiculous video or I'm feeling "clever" things like "Your mother" "Sea Schween" or something Yahtzee typically names Link. If it's a more serious file I'm partial to "Red October" "Lucrecia" and "Nautilus"
My Cyclops is named the RV Atlantis (name of the deep submergence support vehicle owned by the Navy), which holds my Seamoth (with 4 depth upgrade modules) DSV Alvin. Named after the manned deep-ocean research submarine owned by the Navy and operated out of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. I grew a liking for the vehicle years ago when I had to make an exact 3D model for an IMAX film.
In this playthrough I called the Cyclops "Discovery 1" (after 2001 A Space Odyssey) and the Seamoth "C-Pod".
In my first playthrough I called it "Titanic"
I have a ridiculous female-numerical pun system for my vehicles that started with calling my very first Seamoth Primadonna. I have an interest in opera culture as preceding paparazzi culture, so it's a word close to me and I thought it fit with it being a first (prima). Then I got my first Cyclops and following from Primadonna I called it Diva, which coincidentally had a two (di) part.
And from there on out I decided to take this to its fullest as a personal challenge. Diva will be the name for my P.R.A.W.N. once available while I'll rename my Cyclops Matriarch for three (tri). Because the thing can't be customize, unofficially my Seaglide is called Widow for its "oh" sound and structural similarity to "zero" (it's the best I could come up with). Lifepod-5 unofficially is Femme for the Scandinavian "fem"/"five". I considered the alternatives Queen as not being too different sounding from "quin" and "(Vis)Countess" as a neutral alternative, but I think Femme fits better with the others.
If we get more vehicles (jetpack Trello card), I have Forelady and Sister ready.
My cyclops is called sea diamond and is colored with different shades of blue. my seamoth is called sea gem and is colored with different shades of red and pink.

Calliope, after my first cat.
I also have two Seamoths named after my current cats, Tanis (blue) & Alara (green)
... Or, 'The Saucy Gasopod'. Still mulling the decision over.
Makes me want to ride it a lot haha
Ernie (C) and Rubber Duck (sm)
Trashcan(C) Oscar (sm)
And when I'm not playing with my kids
Nautilus (C) Nemo (sm)
Current one is Bon Temps, French for "Good Times" from the Mardi Gras saying "Laissez les bons temps rouler" or "Let the good times roll."
The Seamoth is usually named after my daughter, at her insistence.
EEEEH???? IS THAT GREAT OR WHAT? (it's not)

So I decided to keep the theme going with my Cyclops.
This is actually exactly how you feel when first piloting the seamoth.
Blue sea diamond... like this?
