Subnautica outside of Steam

Hello, I'm a fan of what you people have made here but I regret the choice that you have made to not release this outside of Steam. My account has been locked from purchasing things through them right now.
I'm curious if there is any way to buy a non-special edition of this game that isn't on steam, I'd gladly pay 5 dollars extra if needed, please, this is one of the few interesting games out there on early access and would love to support you and your company, but I cannot purchase anything right now.
Please tell me that there is some conclusion we can come to, I'd love to play this game through it's development.

    You get a steam cd-key, when you get locked out of a steam account for purchases it's generally for fraud or chargeback so you're going to have to fix that to get your account up and running again or make a new one and pay with a different card

    You can ask the developers to see if you can purchase it directly but the problem is you won't get updates and I doubt they'd push updates for you individually

    My problem is that they told me that my account would be locked for 90 days, and it has been more than 90 days and I still have no purchasing privileges, I've filed a ticket to steam support but their response time is painfully slow. I really enjoy this game though, I love the deep sea elements, the sci-fi aspects, and the alien world that holds it all together.
    I hate to say it, but if there isn't a way for me to properly purchase this game I'm probably going to end up just pirating it.

    Is it that hard to make a new account, man? It's not UWE's fault you boned your account, why punish them for your mistake? That's pretty low. Also considering it's still early access, don't you think by the time you straighten your account out it would be released if not way before?

    People make smurf accounts all the time, if there's issues with a card on file, give a buddy some cash and use his. It's not an expensive game, and half the point of buying a game in early access is to support the developer. Remember, they are an independent studio.

    The whole "I can't properly buy it" thing is garbage. You absolutely can. Hmmm.. pirates in subnautica, what a shame.
