Seamoth (and any vehicle) should have its own sonar ping built in or as an upgrade

As it is right now, if you manage to die somewhere far away from your life pod, you'll lose the ship you were in too unless you have enough spare stuff to build a brand new one. All vehicles should have a built in sonar ping so you can find them again. Failing that, maybe the cyclops can get an upgrade to enable this broadcasting.
