Is there a schooling ai for the fish?

I just spawned 500 hoopfish for giggles and they balled up and swam around like a school of fish, at once point they separated into two and then rejoined shortly after, it was a beautiful sight to behold.

Sounds awesome! I thought that AI was limited to the schooling instances that are far lower LoD (2D billboard in recommended settings).

So I got confirmation that there is indeed schooling ai in the game from the steam forums, posted the video there to show the majesty of it.

It would be cool if the game would dynamically add schools like that automatically based on the power of the PC hardware. So in a couple years, big schools would be more prolific. (Yes, there is the issue of balance changing and such -- but that can be resolved).
